Both raised in Southwest Oklahoma with a love for agriculture & western heritage, the Bakers are the definition of soul mates.
Daci & Miles ranch, train horses, run cattle, & rodeo. They live in the midst of the Wichita Mountains surrounded by acres of pasture land. This is a small piece of their story.
When I began to form the idea behind this shoot, I knew I wanted it to be Western centered with a little bit of an edgy twist. The Bakers were the first people I asked to be included because that "theme" is actually who they genuininly are as a couple, as Western & as full of true grit as they come. So, while this shoot was styled, it was done so in a way that reflected Daci & Miles' real life.
The shoot was brought to life by all the incredible vendors that put their heart & soul into their roles. The design, including the head tables, large arrangements, wine barrels, and arch were custom pieces from BK Custom Weddings. The beautiful stationary was provided by Scissortail Creative Co-Op. The barn venue was actually a working ranch turned wedding venue, Three Mile Hills Ranch. It's located just North of Hobart, Oklahoma.
H&MU was done by one of Oklahoma's best, Hair & Makeup by Vanessa. She nailed the wispy braids & added a few flowers to tie the look all together. Last, but not least, the cake was made my Melissa Beck who perfected every last detail of it down to the last dripping ganache.
All of the amazing, handcrafted jewelry was from Calli Co. Jewelry who specializes in Western & Native American pieces. The hand-painted leather jacket was another custom piece by Marvel Rose Designs. Annie Rose was an absolute joy to work with, and she created the design & painted each detail herself. The bouquet was created by Elizabeth McKenzie Florals, who nailed the color scheme & even ships her florals directly to you for out-of-towners.
"Behind the scenes, I see how much work gets put in early mornings before the sun comes up and late nights well after the sun goes down. The 12+ hour days in the Oklahoma weather, the time and effort poured into every animal that steps foot on our place, and the constant listening to/sekeking out of others to futher your knowledge to become a better horsemen.
None of it goes unnoticed. I'm proud of you and proud to be in your corner, MB."
Last year, there was an accident that left the world with one less good man. Miles decided the best way to honor his buddy's memory would be to rebuild his bike & live every day like it's his last. So, he sold his own motorcycle, located a shop in SWOK that was up for the job, & had his friend's bike restored to its prime condition. These days, Miles & Daci spend any free time they have cruising through the Wichita's & celebrating this crazy, beautiful life.
